Nothing is more constant than change.

Annett Wagner’s artwork centres on transformation – just as the focus of her creative work has shifted to art over the past few years since studying fashion design. Her preference for graphic elements has remained, which is why collages are the perfect form of expression for her. As a self-taught artist, she often lets her intuition guide her work or subconsciously draws on the basics of her design studies. After living in Berlin for several years, Annett moved back to her hometown in the Spreewald. However, she is equally at home and at work in both environments, as the contrasting impressions of idyllic nature and the restless big city are often a source of inspiration for her.

My new motifs: derelict buildings that have been reclaimed by nature have always attracted me when travelling and walking. I don’t specifically look for such places, but discover them by chance and then capture them with my camera. This came back to me in 2023 when I was reorganising my art

From the first idea to the last brushstroke, every step is an alternation between intuition and technique, freedom and structure. Authenticity is of the utmost importance to me as an artist. Every work should convey true emotions, tell real stories and transport the viewer into a world of their own.
