Consistently managing the change to sustainable living and action can easily be overwhelming, individual efforts can sometimes seem ineffective and yet as a collective action they are a powerful lever.
I use waste paper such as business cards, flyers and cardboard as a painting surface. The basis of my collages are discarded sheets of plywood. The paper elements are painted with acrylic or rust paint; I am currently experimenting a lot in order to work only with ecological colours in the future.
The main source of inspiration for all my series, whether abstract or realistic, is nature. Appreciation and careful use of our natural resources are important to me, which I would like to visualise with the motifs of abandoned, overgrown buildings in my latest works.
After selecting and, if necessary, cutting the required paper elements, they are designed and then glued to the prepared plywood panel. The last step before framing is nailing. The tiny nails are not only an additional fixation but also a design element.
Changing your perspective on things and situations leads to amazing results – I want to reflect this with my art. Sustainable transformation is a journey and it depends on the actions of each individual. It’s the little things that add up.
